ACA Marketplace Plans in New Port Richey
Marketplace coverage comes with rules: enrollment windows, income estimates, tax credits that settle up at tax time. We explain each one plainly, then lay out plans from multiple carriers side by side so you can choose with a clear picture of the premium and the deductible.
What a Marketplace plan is, and when it fits
A Marketplace plan is health coverage for individuals and families, bought through the federal exchange rather than a state-run site, since that is the system Florida residents use. All of these plans include the same essential health benefits, and a pre-existing condition cannot be used to deny you or raise your rate. The real differences sit in the network, the monthly premium, the deductible and your share of the bill when you use care.
A Marketplace plan is usually the right call when you do not have affordable coverage through an employer. That includes the self-employed, early retirees, people between jobs and anyone whose work coverage just ended. If your income qualifies, a premium tax credit can lower the monthly cost, sometimes by a wide margin.
The rules matter more here than with most coverage. Enroll outside the allowed window, or estimate your income poorly, and the result can be a gap in coverage or a bill at tax time. Our work is to keep you on the right side of those rules.
What our help includes
- Eligibility check
- We confirm if you can enroll now, either during open enrollment or through a special enrollment period, and what documents the exchange may ask you to provide.
- Income and tax credit estimate
- We walk through the income figure the Marketplace uses and how your family size affects it. A careful estimate now helps avoid repaying part of the credit when you file.
- Metal tiers in plain terms
- Bronze, silver, gold and platinum describe how costs are split between you and the plan, not the quality of care. We show where a lower premium means a higher deductible, and when a silver plan with cost-sharing reductions is worth a close look.
- Network and doctor check
- Before you commit, we look up the doctors and hospitals you already use in each plan's network.
- Side-by-side comparison
- You see plans from multiple carriers in one view: premium after any credit, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and copays. There is no fee for the consultation.
- Enrollment and follow-through
- We help you complete enrollment correctly and explain what to report if your income or family changes during the year.
Signs it is time to look at Marketplace coverage
Your work coverage ends soon
When employer coverage stops, you generally get a special enrollment period to pick a new plan. That window is short, usually 60 days, so call once you know your last day of coverage.
You work for yourself
Freelancers and small business owners often pay full price on plans they found alone, without ever checking for a tax credit.
Your income changed
A raise, a pay cut or a new side business can change your credit. Leaving the old estimate in place is how many people end up owing money in April.
A life event just happened
Marriage, a new baby, an adoption or a move can each let you enroll or switch plans outside open enrollment.
Your renewal jumped
Plans and networks change every year. Letting coverage auto-renew without a fresh comparison can mean paying more for less.
How a Marketplace consultation runs
- 1
A short first call
You tell us who needs coverage, roughly what you expect to earn this year and which doctors matter to you. We let you know if an enrollment window is open for you right now.
- 2
We run the numbers
We estimate your tax credit and pull plans from multiple carriers that fit your area and your doctors.
- 3
We review them together
By phone, video or at our office, we go through the options side by side and explain the trade-offs in each. You decide; we do not push a plan.
- 4
Enrollment, done carefully
We help you enroll, double-check the income and family details, and note the date your coverage begins and when the first premium is due.

What shapes your Marketplace premium
You pay nothing for our help. Our compensation comes from the carrier whose plan you end up picking, so working with us adds nothing to your bill. The premium itself depends on a short list of factors the ACA lets carriers use, and health history is not on it.
- Income and family size
- These set your premium tax credit. Lower income relative to family size generally means a larger credit and a lower monthly cost.
- Age and tobacco use
- Carriers may price by age, and Florida plans can add a surcharge for tobacco use.
- Metal tier
- Bronze trades a smaller monthly bill for a bigger deductible. Gold and platinum ask more each month and less when you actually use care.
- Location and network
- Rates vary by county, and plans with narrower networks are often priced lower than broad ones.
Marketplace plan questions
Something not covered here? (727) 609-4129
When can I sign up for a Marketplace plan?
The yearly open enrollment period starts in the fall and closes in January. At any other time of year, signing up requires a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, getting married, having a baby or moving. On the first call we can tell you whether one applies to you.
Will I have to pay back my tax credit?
Possibly. The credit is paid based on the income you project, and it gets squared up against what you really earned when you file your return. If you made more than you expected, part of the credit can come back as tax owed. That is why we take care with the estimate and remind you to update it if your income shifts mid-year.
Does a cheaper bronze plan make sense?
It can if you rarely use care and could cover a high deductible. If you see doctors regularly, a silver or gold plan often costs less over a full year. We show both side by side so you can see the difference.
Will my pre-existing condition affect my coverage?
No. Marketplace plans cannot deny you or raise your premium because of your health history. The only factors carriers can use are things like age, location, tobacco use and the plan you pick.
Do you only offer Marketplace plans?
No. If a Marketplace plan is not the best fit, we can also compare individual health insurance and family health insurance options, and add dental insurance or vision insurance alongside your medical plan.
